# Plant defoliation. How frequently and when to start?

How often do you trim your plants? Any rule of thumb to go by, or is it just as you see fit? When do you do your first trim?

Good morning I found my self trimming every other day or as I seen fit. Just let your plant talk to you it is a great experience. You can do little at a time as you get comfortable

Trimming is when you have harvested and are hanging buds to dry, you can trim wet or dry to get a professional look to your buds and clip all the harsh tasting leaves from the buds.

Defoliating is probably what you want, its done throughout the stage of the grow to keep mold, height, and light under control.
