I would trim it below the scrog. like your scrog. Small holes. Perfect for that. 
I’m going to try the every 21 days trim this go around.

Is there a decent alternative to Hydroguard" ??.. Mines over 1yr old & didn’t realise it depletes over time !
Finding it hard in the uk track it down !!..

Must be hard to get I take it?
Having said that a good source told me when they stated adding fish shit they quit using hydroguard.
Last grow I used fish shit and not hydroguard and had success. My water temps last year were 78-79 degrees. Hope this helps. I put 10 ml of Fish Shit in five gallons
